Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers was founded in 1973 as joint venture between private sector of Iran and Montreal Engineering Co. of Canada and started its activity concentrating in electrical industry of Iran.
In 1980 Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers established Ghods Niroo and cooperation with Monenco Agra was terminated.
In 1991 Monenco Iran continued its activities by partnership of the Government of Iran and then Monenco Agra of Canada.
In 1997 Mapna Co., one of the largest contractors and main constructor of the thermal power plants, and AMEC Foster Wheeler, One of the largest engineering and contracting companies active in energy field in England, became main shareholders of Monenco Iran by buying respectively shares of government of Iran and Monenco Agra and since then Monenco Iran has been the engineering wing of Mapna Group.
From 1999 until now, Mapna Group, AMEC Foster Wheeler and MIR (belonging to the staff), are the main shareholders of this company during this time. Monenco Iran’s fields of activities extended and the company has been also active in oil, gas and petrochemical industry, electrical railway, telecommunication and dispatching and Mining in Iran and abroad..
Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers was successful to expand its services in new target market; Oil & Gas.
Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers was awarded the projects in Syria for power plant design, engineering and site supervision services.
Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers entered into the field of "system and Energy Study" in order to perform system studies in the field of power production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy as well as energy consultancy to large industries and electrical railways.

Also expanded its services In Renewable field; - Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers finished the site surveys of 250 MW wind farms, and started the commissioning of the first 50 MW farm with 2.5 wind turbines. - Also did a significant progress in CSP (Concentrated Solar Plant) design in Yazd province in Iran which is the first in this kind of plant in the region.

Monenco entered into telecommunication sector of Oman. Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers expanded the range of services across Iran market by entering into new target market such as Repowering and Market Analysis, Investment & Management Consultancy. In order to penetrate and develop in domestic market, Monenco established an office in Kermanshah Province. Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers expanded its services in several major countries including Uganda, Kenya, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Armenia.
Monenco registered company in Germany (Monenco Germany) which will enable Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers to grow our market penetration in the CIS and European markets. Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers expanded its strategic partnership agreements with well-known international companies in different fields for service agreements, knowhow knowledge and talent pool. Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers was ranked among the Top 500 Iranian Companies by IMI-100 ranking.
Monenco Iran Company, relying on its technical knowledge and using past experiences in the field of tariff setting in the electricity industry, was able to enter the tariff setting market in African countries in 2017.
