Details:
From the early days of the smart metering appearance, Monenco Consulting Engineers follow up this issue extensively. The smart grid consists of three main building blocks including the sensing, communication and actuation. We believe that it is so beneficial to bring the intelligence to the grid and to the distribution networks suffer from high technical and non-technical losses. On the other hand, some requirements for remote reading, load management and power quality monitoring had been emerged. This requirements need to have a robust infrastructure and two-way communication. The solution is the AMI system and we define the system architecture including the smart customer devices, smart meters, data concentrators and meter data management software at the control center and handle a great investigation of feasible communication technologies and related protocols. At this project, we believe that by deployment of AMI system we can prepare the brick of the smart grid by integration of some applications in the software and some intelligent devices at the field. After some successful pilot project deployment, the roadmap for Iran's AMI system project is prepared and the engineering service for first phase of the project is commenced. The scope of this project is deployment of approximately 1 million metering points at five different cities around the Iran.
