Monenco Iran presented the output of “Reliability Study of Bangladesh Power System” project in presence of Bangladesh State Minister

The project of “Reliability Study of Bangladesh Power System” was performed by the consultancy services of Monenco Iran on behalf of PowerCell Company as the client. In this project, Maintenance Planning, Unit Commitment, and Economic Dispatch Policies for Bangladesh Power Grid, were prepared. For attaining those important policies directly affect the system performance and reliability of system; Monenco Iran used the best efforts and also new methods in operating field to reach the Reliability- Reserve (R-R) curve for this power grid. As a result, the optimum level of availability of system was determined by R-R as the least acceptable reserve capacity in all intervals of system studies. In addition, Monenco Iran recognized the lowest share of spinning reserve in the acceptable reserve capacity for reducing operating cost as much as possible. In addition, Monenco Iran set up the standard for allowable frequency deviation levels and consequently the different types of spinning reserve in according to the infrastructure and also size of system. At the end, Monenco Iran honestly transferred the concepts and methodologies used in this project for some selected experts in Bangladesh power grid.

The outputs of this project were presented in presence of Honorable State Minister and high-level managers of the power sector on 14 July 2016. The most participants praised the quality and in-detail results of the study so that Honorable Minister instructed to award the assignments recommended by this project to Monenco Iran as the next steps of implementation phase.
