After launching the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) since the operation of line 1 of Shiraz metro in 1393, in 1398 Shiraz Urban Railway Organization intended to launch the Automatic Train Operation (ATO) system in order to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the steering system and reduce train depreciation.
As a result, in November 2020 the first train has been equipped with this system and the project entered into the operation cycle with the presence of Shiraz mayor and chairman of the Islamic Council of Shiraz.
By launching this system under the supervision of Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers, practically the ATO system is being used in metro lines of Shiraz which is the second metropolis of the country. The result will increase travel comfort, reduced time of travel and energy consumption.
