The first steam unit of Urmia Power Plant has been Synchronized to the grid in August 2020.
Urmia Power Plant is located in west Azarbayejan province and includes 3*160 MW steam units with the total capacity of 480 MW.
In this project, Monenco Iran was responsible to render engineering and design services for civil, BOP, water treatment, condensate water purification unit and ACC cooling system.
With the construction and operation of the steam power plant, about 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas consumption will be saved annually and about 500 MW of electricity will be injected into the national grid without fuel consumption.
