Monenco signed a contract of “Consultancy and Design Services for Tehran – Hamadan – Sanandaj Railway Electrification”

Monenco Consulting Engineers Recently signed a contract of “Consultancy and Design Services for Tehran – Hamadan – Sanandaj Railway Electrification” with Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company.

Although electricity has been widely used for supplying railways in many countries for decades, but in Iran, railways electrification is a new path which is going to be followed by Islamic Republic of Iran Railway Company. As the first step, electrification of Tehran – Hamadan – Sanandaj railway selected to be designed by a local consultant. It can be claimed that railways electrification is completely a brand new concern in Iran and is accompanied with various advantages such as creating the opportunity for increasing gasoline export as well as reducing environmental pollutants.

The project consists of two parts. The first part is Tehran – Hamadan with 260 Km length which has been already constructed and the second part is Hamadan – Sanandaj which is 150 Km and is currently under construction.

In this project, Monenco Iran is responsible for consultancy and design services to carry out technical and economic studies of Tehran – Hamadan – Sanandaj electrification.
