On Monday October 3rd, a total of ten contracts and agreements for joint cooperation were signed between Iran and Germany in the presence of German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister and Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs in Tehran. Accordingly, Managing Director of Monenco Iran; Mr. Alireza Shirani and Managing Director of Mitsubishi Hitachi, Mr. Rainer Kiechl signed a contract of "Repowering of Tarasht Power Plant" at this event.
The mentioned project is the first project in the field of repowering in Iran. Repowering is a method to increase the efficiency of the old power plant specially steam turbine power plants. Tarash power plant includes 4 steam turbines each with the capacity of 12.5 MW. In this project, a new 25 MW gas turbine will be installed and its outlet heat will be used for heating in the existing boiler which will organize a combined cycle power plant. Monenco is responsible for supervision services on Mitsubishi Hitachi design & engineering services.
